All ages are welcome to celebrate this unique phenomenon with us at the library! This event will be held outside, directly behind the library building. We will be passing out solar eclipse glasses during this program, as well as snacks. Glasses and snacks will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Please note: the Library has a limited number of glasses (300 pairs) available. The majority of those we received were distributed to the schools. We will also have a small craft available geared towards preschool through fifth graders. Please note: the library will not be providing any outdoor seating; you may bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets if you wish to sit to watch the eclipse. 

In the case of poor weather, we will be setting up livestream viewing in both our Halle and Storytelling Rooms. We will still be providing glasses, snacks, and the craft even if we are indoors.

Burch, Jr. Library reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored or hosted by the library without the expressed permission of those included within the photograph/video. Photographs/videos may be used in publications, brochures, postcards, posters, newspapers, social media, television, websites, etc., for the purposes of event promotion.  

Hold Harmless:

The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library shall not be liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred by attendees during library events. Attendees expressly agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr Library and its representatives from any claims arising from participation in the event.
